iPhone

iOS 18 or later. Drover has no macOS or iPadOS app, and neither is planned.

Host

macOS or Linux. Drover Host runs as your user, never as root.

Herdr

The host enforces Drover’s version-pinned Herdr protocol and refuses unknown protocol versions.

Network

Pairing starts on the local network. LAN control remains free; off-network control is a Pro capability.

   Install Drover for iPhone

   Accept the official TestFlight invitation and install the production-signed beta.

   Install Drover Host

   On macOS, use the signed and notarized Homebrew cask provided with beta access. Linux distribution details will accompany the beta package.

   Start beside Herdr

   Run droverd as your normal user. It attaches to the compatible Herdr service; it does not replace or host your agents.

   Pair locally

   Scan the short-lived QR code with iPhone and compare the same verification phrase on both devices.

• Confirm the verified hostname shown on iPhone.
• Keep Drover Host running in your user session.
• Verify the current agent state before sending input.
• Expect disconnected sessions to be read-only; Drover does not queue commands offline.
