How does each app reach my machine?

Moshi's iPhone app connects over SSH or Mosh (its App Store listing is titled 'herdr/tmux on SSH/MOSH'), so you manage keys and reachability yourself. Drover pairs with a QR code, needs no SSH keys or open ports, connects over your local network first, and uses an end-to-end encrypted relay that forwards only ciphertext when you are away.
